Run report 812 29 April 2014 Lake Garden & vicinity Sole Hare : Good Mood Veloo Weather : It was a dark and stormy night
People in the Klang Valley wonder why they have to suffer the inconvenience of water rationing when it is raining almost every evening. A not-so-cooperating Weather God diverting rain away from catchment areas?
Anyway, when the horn sounded for the run to start, it was already drizzling. The trail meandered through the Panggong Anniversary and then up to the road leading to Bukit Aman until abruptly stopped by construction barriers. Round the Bird Park and then back to the Lake Garden, by which time, thunder and lightning announced their arrival.
Up to Tun Razak Memorial and then the tunnel to Jalan Travers where the bridge gave safe passage towards the Bangsar area. A long loop and it was back to the safe bridge and back to the Club with FROP (front runner on paper) just within the hour.
As usual, the Circle conducted by GM Col Johan was another riotous affair with charges that ranged from the insane to the inane, culminating in a memorable duet featuring GM and Uncle Yap exhorting Alka to show us her legs (a yard above her knees)
Then we experienced first-hand the generosity of the sole hare, former GM Good Mood Veloo. He booked the palatial Perdana Room and laid on a sumptuous feast, with special provision for vegetarians. Ann Choo contributed vegan sotong which tasted better than the real thing.
Whisky galore and wine and very superior old pale (brandy to the uninitiated) were unveiled when the dinner buffet started. It may be a cold and stormy night outside but in the Perdana Room, the Harriers were truly making merry. On! On!
