RLC Harriers Lunar New Year Fellowship Run 854, 3 March 2015
Hares : David Wee & Mighty Mouse
Runsite : Lake Garden & its vicinity
Weather : Dry and warm preceded by thunder & lightning
& threats of rain

As we gathered on the lawn of the fore-court, the rolls of thunder
threatened ominously ... but fear not, the Weather God is a hasher and
sure enough, the wind came and blew the heavy clouds towards PJ and
Klang.

The fire-crackers were let off (not after a few anxious moments when
President Jon Azman had to be given a lesson on how to light a fire)
and we ran across towards the Monuments and then to the road leading
to Datin Ann's house where there was another check. It was obvious
where the trail would lead to and sure enough, UY found the trail that
he had so patiently and meticulously cut with the assistance of Chin
Fook Kee some months ago for the James Bond Anniversary Run.

There was another check across the MRR and the trail turned right and
then a huge loop anti-clockwise along some 4 km of road which then
veered into the Dragon Trail, across the perimeter of Parliament House
and back to the Club via the back gate. Lovely run, well thought out
and just right for the occasion.

Mike Kuan, in an effort to erase the ignominy of coming home ten
minites short of two hours at the previous run at Sri Damansara kept
his lead all the way and was home 55 minutes as FROP.

The Bomoh then punished all the people who had bragged about
overtaking him the previous week. Arthur Hoi (aka S**t Stirrer) whose
lead of more than an hour had his lead cut to negative. Cecilia Yap,
who was heard to have boasted that she ran back in front of Mike Kuan
was also brought down to earth. Hell hath no fury like Quiksilver Fox
scorned.

But the Circle was, as usual, all about fun fun fun and the merriment
continued with other silly charges. We went for our showers and
dressed into our LNY fineries. The lion dance troupe was waiting at
the lawn and started their routine, entertaining one and all with
their prances. One of their tricks was to pretend to drink beer and
act drunk ... that was very well received by Hashers. People jostled
to pose with the three lions and Chye Sn (the God of Prosperity) and
soon it was time to let off another three long strings of
fire-crackers.

We then adjourned to Bunga Raya where we "lou sang" (stirring up
wealth and prosperity) in unison and tucked into some delicious food.
Wonder of wonders, we managed with two bottles of single malt
(compared with 14 at the Anniversary James Bond Night), a bottle of
brandy (only one quarter finished) and some bottles of wine.

We dined and wined while the Chye Sn went round spreading wealth and
prosperity ad we all had a jolly good time.
